Abhay Pisharodi is an AI enthusiast and M.Tech student at IIT Gandhinagar, where he is passionate about building intelligent systems that bridge cutting-edge research and real-world applications. His primary interests lie in large language models (LLMs), multi-modal learning, and building scalable AI tools for environmental and societal impact.
Currently, Abhay is working on VayuBench, a benchmarking suite designed to evaluate the reasoning and analysis capabilities of LLMs on air quality and sustainability tasks. He is also leading the development of VayuChat, an LLM-powered chatbot that provides interactive air quality insights using code generation, function calling, and structured data querying.
He enjoys exploring how LLMs can be grounded in real-world data, connected to tools, and extended to multimodal inputs. Abhay is deeply curious about how AI can be made more accessible, explainable, and usable — particularly in domains like climate intelligence, public health, and citizen engagement.
He brings a balance of creative problem-solving, a strong technical foundation, and a genuine drive to create AI that matters.
